Treatment

Gua Sha

Gua Sha uses a smooth-edged tool, guided along the skin with oil, in repeated short strokes. It's a traditional technique that can also be applied more gently to the face. As with cupping, some temporary redness or marking on the skin is a normal and expected part of the technique.

This page describes what this treatment is traditionally used for in traditional Chinese medicine. It is not a promise of any particular outcome, and it is not a substitute for medical care — Jelly will refer you to a medical doctor when that is the appropriate next step.

Traditionally used / sought for

  • Muscle tension and stiffness, especially neck and shoulders
  • General relaxation after a long day or after exercise
  • Facial Gua Sha for a lighter, more cosmetic-focused session

What to expect at home

Jelly brings her own tools and oil for a home Gua Sha session, and will always check in on pressure comfort as she goes, especially for a first-time visitor.
